About Testing For Echo
Testing For Echo is a four-piece alternative rock group composed of musicians from the hamlets North Babylon and Levittown, on Long Island, New York.
Formation/Montauk Project (2005 – 2008)
Testing For Echo was initially formed in early 2008 as a full-band rock ensemble backing frontman Rich Albergo, originally known as the acoustic pop act the Montauk Project. The Montauk Project rose to some popularity after forming in 2005 with Albergo and accompanying guitarist Antonio Gabrielle releasing a series of consecutive singles and playing the local acoustic circuit. As the musical catalogue and gigging expanded, so did the group. Eventually, they recruited Mike Gaudiello, of local punk act Better Than Toast, on bass guitar and long-time friends Eric Mazurkewitz on keyboards and backing vocals and Jim Boyle on drums.
In 2008, they changed their name to Testing For Echo and released the five-song E.P. entitled “Renaissance”, which was a re-working of previous Montauk Project songs in a full-band rock fashion, replacing drummer Boyle with Pete Koronios, formerly of post-hardcore band Finley’s Revenge, after the recording.
2009 – Present
Throughout the spring of 2009, the band set off to tour the northeast college circuit, occasionally performing with acts such as Gym Class Heroes, Rookie Of The Year and Eve 6. In November of 2009, guitarist Gabrielle left the group on good terms. The band continues to play locally as well as tour colleges in the northeast. On June 6th, 2010, their debut E.P. “The Resolution” was released on iTunes and Amazon.
Artwork for the E.P. was done by Caroline Faraca, of the Blue Point, Long Island tattoo parlor The Devils Rose.
